The CPI is a statistical estimate constructed using the prices of a sample of representative items whose prices are collected periodically.
Our office publishes quarterly CPI report (March, June, September and December) as well as an overall report each year.

In March 2026, Kiribati’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a year-on-year increase of 0.7%, with the All-Items index rising from 110.32 in March 2025 to 111.04 in March 2026. A month-on-month increased by 0.03% means prices went up slightly compared with the previous month. Overall, prices remained almost the same.

In June 2024, Kiribati’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a year-on-year increase of 8.0%, with the All-Items index rising from 97.7 in September 2023 to 105.6 in September 2024. The month-on-month increase was modest at -0.1%.
In the year to July 2023, prices for the All-items CPI rose by 10.8 percent compared to the same month last
year. In July 2023, the CPI all-items index stood at 148.0, up from 133.6 in July 2022.
