The Kiribati National Statistics Office included a specific module in the 2019 household income and expenditure survey (HIES) questionnaire in order to evaluate the impact of the government increase to the price of copra, which took effect in 2018 and where the price was increased from a minimum of $1 per kilogram to $2 per kilogram.
